Frequently Asked Questions
The New Azure Plan will streamline and improve the way partners buy and consume Azure services on behalf of customers. It gives rhipe CSP (Cloud Solution Provider Program) partners a consistent view of Azure pricing across sales motions, USD pricing for global consistency, billing date alignment to calendar month and access to Azure Cost Management through CSP.
Please note there are two actions that Microsoft requires before the customer tenant can be moved to the New Azure Plan:
- Partners must have signed the new Microsoft Partner Agreement (MPA)
- Customers must have signed the Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCuA)
Azure product pricing is now consistently consumed in USD across the globe. Countries billed in a local currency will continue to be billed in the same currency as before. In countries without local currency billing, they will continue to be billed in USD.
Example: Australian providers will consume Azure in USD and be billed by rhipe in AUD. The exchange rate for USD to AUD will be based on Microsoft’s published Exchange rate.
The standard CSP discount from Microsoft is replaced by Partner Earned Credit (PEC) in the New Azure Plan. With the New Azure Plan, Azure Cost Management is now available for partners and customers within the Azure Portal.

The new Azure Plan replaces the existing commerce platform with an enhanced platform. It is easier to navigate as it streamlines partner and customer requirements. It introduces pricing consistency across channels and adds additional capabilities like Azure Cost Management and Azure Lighthouse to the CSP channel model. Customers who may need visibility into Azure usage pricing can get this enabled through Azure Cost Management in the new platform.
Microsoft will retire the current commerce platform in near future. All customer tenants and subscriptions are expected to transition to the new commerce platform at the earliest.
As a partner, you receive a consolidated view of both Azure resources and any third-party marketplace applications as part of the same invoice and reconciliation file from rhipe.
Microsoft is also working to transition Microsoft 365 subscriptions onto the new commerce platform in the near future to provide the same streamlined experience.
