Sometimes it can be quite hard to keep track of the agreements and portals you need to access different resources in Microsoft. You have MPN as the main portal for information, Partner Admin Center and Partner Center for customer management, and if you are a Microsoft partner looking at reselling Dynamics software such as Dynamics 365 and CRM online, the portal you need to have access to will be PartnerSource.
PartnerSource is the main Dynamics portal that provides partners with the Dynamics Sales, marketing and technical resources to drive your Dynamics business and get your sales and technical staff up to speed and certified. Thus helping your organisation to achieve the MPN competency through Dynamics Learning Portal.
There are two primary agreements that partner's can sign up to in order to become a Dynamics partner and gain access to PartnerSource - SPA and CSA agreements. SPA agreement is for Dynamics partners reselling on-premise Dynamics AX , NAV, GP and SL through Dynamics Price list. It requires partners to meet minimum revenue threshold of US$35,000 every year.
CSA agreement on the other hand, lets partners claim incentives for CRM Online, CRM on-premise and AX sold through MOSP and volume licensing programs. It requires an annual minimum revenue commitment of US$10,000 from partners to keep the agreement active. To be entitled to CSA incentives, partners need to achieve cloud CRM competency. This requires 150 net new seats every year to claim incentives for CRM, or achieve Gold ERP competency, which requires US$125,000 annual revenue, to claim incentives for AX.
Unknown to many partners, you can also sign the Partner Registration Agreement (PRA agreement) to gain access to PartnerSource. PRA agreement gives partners access to Dynamics PartnerSource without revenue commitments of SPA and CSA needed to keep the agreement active. It is suitable for:
- Dynamics consulting partners who do not transact with Microsoft directly
- Dynamics partners exploring to become Dynamics partner before having a stable Dynamics revenue stream
- Partners who sell Dynamics 365 through CSP outside the traditional volume licensing channels.
These are the steps to sign up to be a Dynamics Partner by signing PRA agreement:
- Download the Partner Registration Agreement (PRA agreement) here.
- Print, complete and sign the PRA form. Do note that you need to have active MPN and fill in your MPN ID ready.
- Submit the scanned of the completed and signed form to Microsoft Dynamics APOC agreement team .
The agreement team in Dynamics Operations will set up an account for you and ask you to log in for the first time and associate your Windows Live ID for log in to PartnerSource. Note that it is your personal Windows Live ID, not your company address. Once the association is done, you can invite your co-workers into PartnerSource and assign roles to different users.
